Two UN Milestones at WAIC 2026. A UNIDO Flagship Case and a Visit From the UN Digital Envoy

On July 17, President Xi Jinping noted at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference that artificial intelligence is the crystallization of the shared wisdom of all humanity, and that all countries should uphold the principles of putting people first and developing AI for good, and join hands to build a fair and sound global AI governance system. On the afternoon of the following day, the Global Industrial AI International Cooperation Forum was held in Shanghai. Hosted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and other institutions, the forum took “from global consensus to industrial implementation” as its theme, practicing multilateralism and giving full play to the important role of the United Nations.

During the forum, the first group of selected cases for the “Global Industrial AI Flagship Cases” was released. For its embodied AI technology innovation and real-world deployment, DexForce Technology was selected together with Shanghai Electric, SAP, Neusoft Cloud and more than ten other institutions, in a cohort of cases that collectively demonstrate the practical value of industrial AI in boosting efficiency, cutting costs, and advancing safety and green development. Notably, DexForce was the only embodied AI company on the list.

During the conference, UN Under-Secretary-General and Tech Envoy Amandeep Singh Gill traveled to Robot Valley in Shenzhen for a field visit and inspection. At the DexForce Technology exhibition area, the delegation experienced the W1 Pro robotic commercial service kiosk in person. The delegation spoke highly of the dexterous manipulation capabilities of the robots.
